Deliveroo

Deliveroo have finally cycled their way to Cheltenham! We were warmly invited to welcome them with open arms and hungry stomachs.

SilverBall PR invited us to Third Floor Designs studio to enjoy a supper club with a difference. Arriving to the new Bottle Green lemonade and our very own personalised bottle was a lovely little treat. After chatting away over elderflower cordial and fizz with other excited foodies we were pleased when the iconic Deliveroo delivery man arrived...and so the evening began.

You may or may not have heard of Deliveroo. This clever delivery concept started in London two years ago! Now us very lucky South westerners can enjoy the same convince of restaurant standard take aways delivered to our door step. For a flat rate of £2.50 you can order your favourite food from quality indie Cheltenham restaurants, including Award Winning Simpsons Fish & Chips, Thai Brasserie, Kibou Sushi and the Milk Bar

The delights of the evening included Thai Brasserie's starters of chicken satay and spring rolls followed by platters of Kibou Sushi full of tuna and salmon zukushi. For mains our favourite Fish and Chips from Simpsons arrived, cutely presented in small boxes with your very own homemade tartar sauce and a wedge of lemon. The owners Bonny and James were attending the supper club too and we just loved how excited they were about tucking into their own fish and chips even after 6 years of making them! If you haven't tried them yet, why not?! Deliveroo now provides you with no excuses.

Deliveroo regional manager for the South West cleverly showed us how to use the online ordering system to order our pud. The website is made super easy, once you've ordered once it will save your details so pick, click and wait! In just minutes, the average being 32 minutes, your food will arrive by bicycle from one of 5 happy delivery guys. We were so lucky that the very same day as the event Milk Bar signed up to be part of Deliveroo. So dessert was Italian Gelato made that morning from Jess's Diary Milk, by their in house Gelatiere, Gianfranco. 20 Mins after ordering, 4 huge tubs arrived at the door. We sampled the most delicious Banana Ice cream we've ever had, in addition to salted caramel, rocky road and creamy raspberry sorbet, all served in a delightful Milk Bar tub and branded wafer biscuit.

Coincidently when visiting the appstore the next day, what popped up onto favourites? The new Deliveroo App! It's catching and Cheltonians, you are so lucky to have it right on your doorsteps The only downside...you have to live within a 2 mile radius of Cheltenham town centre. Their eco friendly delivery system of a fleet of cyclists will make you feel better about that. However, if like us you do live outside of Cheltenham, why not have a picnic in Montpellier Park, or take the family for fish and chips by Pitville Lake? Deliveroo will deliver directly to you!

Bravo Deliveroo, what a cracking idea. You've got us thinking about moving back to Cheltenham!

Millie and Meg x
