With four weeks to go until the big 'I Do' it was time to head back to the 1920's, complete with my hens, nay, flappers for a jolly hen do darling.
Starting off at Hotel 131 where the weather was lovely enough to sit in their garden room. This room is pretty spectacular in the cooler months too, but on a day like Saturday the roof peels back to really create the indoor/outdoor space. With a view of the blue skies and a back drop of the Cheltenham Ladies College Chapel we tucked into our boozy brunch. Think peach belinins, bloody Mary's, fluffy American pancakes and eggs Benedict! Super.
Off we totterd over to St Luke's where my sisters had booked a Charleston dancing session with Holly from CharlestonDance.co.uk. This 2 hour session was so much fun, learning some basic Charleston moves that were put together into a full routine for a grand finale!
After working off our brekkie we were ready for our afternoon tea over at The Daffodil. How apt to finish off the day in a converted 1920's cinema... This was no accident was it? We were greeted with a champagne arrival and the staff looked after us perfectly catering for dietary needs and half cut demanding hens! 3 tiers of classic afternoon tea with sandwiches, brownies, ginger cake, scones and panacotta pots amongst other yummy loveliness. The gluten free option was equally as scrummy much to my sisters delight. Tricky to get a yummy gluten free afternoon tea right, so bravo chef. We had a choice of teas with some of us going for earl grey, others camomile and a classic Bristol breakfast. Much needed after consuming mostly bubbles all day!
We stayed in for a a couple of the Circle Bars' infamous cocktails and then time for home. Can we do it again please?!
For those of you who don't know, I was particularly greedy and had two hen parties. Back in August six of us ventured off to Hay-On-Wye for the weekend for Eco-glamping at Cosy Under Canvas. It was an amazing weekend full of giggles, canoeing, woodfired hot tubbing, star gazing and yoga! Perfect.
If you want any advice on hen do planning in the Cotswolds then leave us a note! We have plenty of recommendations!
