Well cocktails are our water of life, especially when they are gin based. So we were really pleased to hear that AquaVitae, a new and very cool cocktail bar was flinging open its doors last week.
Owner of 21 Club Richard Davies has teamed up with General manager Ross, to provide an extension of the club providing customers with all day food and drink, expertly created cocktails and a place to party into the small hours.
The team of managers bring a wealth of experience with them from previous accolades such as Tom Kerridges kitchen, Braserrie Blanc and Le Manoir.
AquaVitae reflects the ever changing atmosphere on eclectic regent street where there is something for everyone; indie shops, Cavendish House, the Everyman theatre, pubs, clubs and restaurants. Although a bar into the early hours you will not hesitate to sip on fresh coffee, smoked bloody Mary's and American style sliders at anytime of the day.
The stylish renovation of this bar spreads over two floors (or three if you include 21 Club). Upstairs you will find your VIP drinkers and lavish chill area with dark velvet seating, a marble bar and a beautiful horse mural, hand painted on the wall. Downstairs provides a generous space for dining, drinking and conversing. There is a "theatre" kitchen at the end of the bar which has grown in popularity over the last few years, either showing our desire to be entertained or good old fashioned nosiness.
This is the first time we have heard of a "cocktail chef" and boy does it show in the menu. Who has ever heard of season cocktails before? We loved the nod to the owners passion for horse racing, with a whole section of the cocktail menu named in tribute to famous race horses.
Glad to hear you had a busy first official Saturday night AquaVitae. We will be seeing you again very soon.
Millie and Meg x
